On and Off Hire Charter Surveys
On and Off Hire Charter Surveys record the condition of the vessel, and are arranged both prior to embarkation and at the stage of disembarkation to avoid any dispute between the parties involved.
Inspections are carried out according to factors concerning the charter, but generally relevant areas of the vessel where damage is likely to occur are always surveyed. This includes: Deck, Hold, Rails, Cargo Gear, Hatch Covers, etc. A bunker survey is also carried out during the survey. Vessel documentation is also checked and copies are obtained for reference. BMP's reports provide owners and charterers with the confidence that their vessel is adequately protected from disputes over the vessel's condition at the completion of a charter agreement. Other services provided include on-hire/off-hire bunker and consumables surveys, inventories and reports on machinery failures, hull damage, and fair wear and tear. The guideline of this service is the charter contract and it covers the calculations of extras as well, depending on the type of charter agreement. |
On/Off Hire Surveys should not be confused with Condition Surveys, which provides a far more detailed inspection of the vessel.
